Group Tours

With world-class art and breathtaking sea views you’ll never be short of inspiration at Turner Contemporary. Entry to the gallery is free but you can enhance your visit with a private group tour led by experts. Learn about the current exhibition, gain some understanding of the artist/s and discover new ways to engage with art.

Tours can take place between 10.30am and 4pm (galleries close at 5pm) and last for 45 minutes.

  • Engagement Assistant £5 + VAT per person
  • Assistant Curator £10 + VAT per person
  • Curator £20 + VAT per person

All groups should be a minimum of 10 and maximum of 20 people.

Welcome and Introduction to Turner Contemporary

A 15-20 minute introduction to the gallery, past exhibitions, modern day links with the historical legacy of JMW Turner, our work and the social and economic impact in the local community.

Tours can take place between 10.30am and 4pm (galleries close at 5pm) and last for 45 minutes.

  • Curator £300 + VAT
  • Director £400 + VAT

Private views and bespoke tours

Is your group arriving by train and would like to be met at the station by our welcoming guides? Would you like to know more of the history of Margate or visit some of the wonderful attractions or artists studios in the town?

Gallery Introduction

  • £25 + VAT for a group of up to 33 students and their accompanying adults
