Looked-After Children

Turner Contemporary runs two free programmes specifically for looked-after children in Kent.  

Creative Lab 

Creative Lab is a weekly programme of arts engagement for a small cohort of teenagers who are not in formal education. Over the course of two years the project is aiming to demonstrate that there are a range of benefits when participants have agency over what they learn.  

Working with community partners, we bring creatives, practitioners and professional support to the young people. They are offered resources covering a range of areas in visual arts and encouraged to explore those that interest them most.  

Art Club  

A creative session for Kent based looked-after children. The sessions are for 11-18 year olds and run bi-monthly. They offer practical experience of artistic techniques.
