In Conversation: Anya Gallaccio and Michael Landy CBE RA
Foyle Rooms
Artists and friends Anya Gallaccio and Michael Landy CBE RA will be in conversation to talk about sculpture – its materiality, histories and complexities, and how they have both challenged our understanding of it.
Gallaccio and Landy studied together at Goldsmiths College, London and exhibited in the now historic Freeze exhibition at London’s docklands in 1988 and East Country Yard Show in 1990 along with artists who collectively became known at Young British Artists (YBAs). Hear them discuss Gallaccio’s survey exhibition preserve at Turner Contemporary, the material and conceptual connections between their practices and many subjects in between.
