About The Margate School:

The Margate School (TMS) is an independent non-for-profit postgraduate art school. TMS redefined the former Woolworths building in Margate’s High Street and has become a hub for innovation and creativity in the town, playing an influential role in the story of Margate’s regeneration. The School’s theme – Art, Society, Nature guides its socially engaged and sustainability-driven programme, delivered through knowledge sharing, space and facility provision, enabling creative practitioners to realise their potential.TMS is rooted in community and connects nationally and internationally; reaching out through academic programmes, events, workshops, residencies, guest lectures and exhibitions. Much of the School’s provision is subsidised in support of Margate and its diverse creative and wider communities.TMS runs a post-graduate portfolio building course in Visual Communication. Part of the academic curriculum of that course is to help plan and to take part in the Margate Festival of Design. Key to the Festival’s ambition is to draw together design education, industry and our communitythemargateschool.com
