POW! Event: Place, Space and Who

A discussion inspired by Barbara Walker's monumental charcoal wall portraits of five women from the African Diaspora living in Kent - part of Thanet's annual POW! Power of Women festival.
Panelists include women who feature in the portraits, alongside singer-songwriter Denai Moore and international author Ayishat Akanbi.
The event will be held in Turner Contemporary’s Clore Learning Studio on the first floor of the gallery.
POW! Power of Women Thanet Festival takes place from 6th-15th March 2020. It is an annual festival of Arts and Culture celebrating International Women’s Day in locations across Thanet.
Now in its 5th year, there are over 60 events. Most are free to enter but advance booking is advised.
