Immerse yourself in this hands-on workshop exploring experimental instrument-making using natural and reclaimed materials, led by Ramsgate-based artist Rosie Carr.
Nature Loops is an open, hands-on sound workshop and creative making space led by Ramsgate-based artist Rosie Carr.
Using natural and reclaimed materials collected from local beaches, woods and gardens, Rosie will show you how to create handmade percussive and experimental instruments. Sounds, instruments, and materials will build throughout the workshop, evolving into an immersive sound environment, layered with ambient field recordings and gentle synth textures.
Whether you’d like to join in, spend time listening, or simply drop by to see what’s taking shape, everyone is welcome throughout the evening.
Spaces for instrument making are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, but visitors are welcome to watch the workshop and evolving soundscape unfold throughout the night.
Note: This workshop is suitable for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult when using hand tools. Amplified sound elements may not be suitable for visitors sensitive to noise.
