Turner Contemporary is a catalyst for regeneration in Margate, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. Our pioneering learning programme engages thousands of children, young people, and adults, enriching lives across Kent.

Since opening
- Turner has contributed £100 million to the local economy.
- We've welcomed over 4.5 million visitors to the gallery.
- More than 1,000 young people have had their work displayed in the gallery.
In the past year
- 322,330 people visited the gallery.
- 12,000 people took part in learning sessions.
- 4,000 students from 150 schools and colleges enjoyed a trip to the gallery.
- We've supported East Kent College to deliver arts diploma qualifications to 16 and 17-year-olds.
- Save the Children have supported us to deliver our early years programme to over 500 young children.
- Our weekly programme for looked-after children has delivered 1,100 contact hours, supporting 20 young people back into school.
- We've operated as a Warm Bank to local people as part of a national programme and database of spaces.
- We've continued to partner with Pilgrim's Hospice and Age UK Thanet to offer sessions for older adults experiencing loneliness or receiving end-of-life care (Look Club), allowing them to explore artwork on display.
- Offered a free weekly drawing club and weekend creative workshops for primary-aged children.
- Continued to operate the Creative Isle Community Rail Partnership, aimed at promoting rail travel in Thanet and supporting creative community projects.
