Our commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
We are committed to embedding equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) across all areas of our work.
We regularly review our actions and remain committed to ongoing learning and meaningful change.
Our actions include:
- Providing inclusive leadership training for line managers and trustees. We are committed to continuing this training for all staff and integrating it into the appraisal process.
- Providing career development opportunities equally for all staff at all levels.
- Reviewing our recruitment processes, including how we promote roles and shortlist candidates.
- Taking positive action in programming exhibitions, ensuring the representation of minority and global majority groups.
- Implementing a Code of Conduct to guide behaviour in our gallery and online spaces. This reflects our zero-tolerance approach to racism and all forms of abuse.
- Making equity, diversity and inclusion a standing item on our Board agendas, and reviewing progress monthly through the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT).
This work is ongoing. Our next steps include:
- Continuing to review organisational policies and practices to ensure they reflect our commitment to EDI.
- Further refining our recruitment processes to support greater workforce diversity, both within our organisation and the wider sector.
- Actively listening to and learning from diverse voices and perspectives, both internally and externally.
- Keeping our priorities and actions under regular review to ensure we are driving real and lasting change.
