Safeguarding Statement
Turner Contemporary upholds the principle that all individuals have the right to protection from abuse or harm and promotes a culture and environment which is safe and welcoming for all. We are committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of employees, volunteers and every visitor who accesses the gallery, uses our facilities, or participates in our activities and learning programme.
Turner Contemporary’s staff and volunteers are all responsible for implementing the gallery’s safeguarding procedures. We also recognise the important role that visitors can play in helping us to keep Turner Contemporary safe. If you are concerned about your own wellbeing or safety or that of anyone else within the gallery, please speak to a member of Turner Contemporary staff.
We respond to any concerns or incidents promptly and with care. We follow rigorous procedures to protect those in our care and ensure that all our staff and volunteers are safely recruited and fully trained in safeguarding best practices. We also ensure our partners adhere to these principles.
From exhibitions and events to workshops, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to supporting those who share concerns and working closely with relevant agencies to ensure everyone’s safety.
We have a full Safeguarding Policy which is made available to colleagues.
