Our First Floor Galleries are closed while we change over exhibitions.

You can still visit Sunley Gallery on the ground floor, the shop and the café, which are open as usual.

Code of Conduct

Turner is a safe welcoming environment for anyone who spends time with us. A place where art brings us together. We do not tolerate behaviour that risks the comfort and safety of our staff, visitors, or artworks.

Respect and inclusion in our gallery spaces

We have a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination, harassment, or abusive behaviour of any kind. This includes threats, verbal abuse, intimidation, unwanted physical contact, and discriminatory remarks related to age, disability, gender identity, race, religion, or sexual orientation.

If anyone behaves in a way that goes against these values, they will be asked to stop or leave, and if necessary, the police will be contacted.

Respect and inclusion in our online spaces

We want our online spaces to be as inclusive and creative as our gallery spaces. We welcome you to like, share and respond to our posts.

Art encourages debate. It can bring us together and start conversations that introduce different viewpoints, challenge and even provoke us. And even though we welcome this debate and feedback, much like our galleries we won’t tolerate abuse. Anyone posting hateful, abusive or discriminatory comments will be removed, and repeat offenders may be blocked.

For safety reasons we’re also likely to remove any links to third party content.

Our online community guidelines:

  • Come with an open mind.
  • Respect different perspectives and viewpoints, even if you don’t agree.
  • Verbal abuse and swearing/swear words with certain letters replaced will be removed.
  • Inappropriate, threatening, offensive, objectionable or abusive comments or images will be reported to the platform and removed along with anything promoting hatred.
  • Don’t post personal information about yourself or others.
  • Do not submit the same or very similar contributions multiple times.
  • Do not promote, market, or advertise commercially.

We can’t respond to every individual comment or question on social media, but you can always get in touch with the team by emailing: info@turnercontemporary.org

Together, we can make Turner a positive space for everyone.
