Apply for free coach travel for your secondary school’s visit to Turner Prize 2019

Posted in – Turner Prize 2019

This November, we are pleased to be offering secondary schools across Kent the chance to visit Turner Prize 2019 in Margate with subsidised coach travel, provided by Taylor Travel Ltd.

One of the best known prizes for visual arts in the world, Turner Prize 2019, is coming to Turner Contemporary. Every other year, the prize leaves Tate Britain and is presented at a venue outside London.

This will be an exciting time for young people to visit Margate, engage with cutting edge contemporary art, and have meaningful conversations about contemporary topics.

Entry to the exhibition is free, and subsidised coach travel is available to any secondary school and college in Kent and Medway for age groups of Year 9 upwards subject to a successful application.

Turner Contemporary is a charity and is able to provide this opportunity thanks to the support and funding from our generous sponsors and supporters.

Please note: that due to the content of the exhibition, we will only be accepting applications from age groups of Year 9 upwards, through this scheme. We strongly recommend talking to the learning team prior to your visit, and pre-visits are welcomed and encouraged.

How to apply:

To find out more and apply, please download an application form.

Please complete the form in full and return to learn@turnercontemporary.org or post to Learning, Turner Contemporary, Rendezvous, Margate, CT91HG.

Applications must be returned by 30th September 2019.

Once applications have been assessed, successful schools will receive an offer the week following the deadline.

If you have any questions about the application, please contact schools officer Jennifer Scott jscott@turnercontemporary.org or call 01843233000 and speak to the learning department.
