From 7 February 2020, Turner Contemporary is showcasing the work of artists and makers from Alabama and surrounding states in We Will Walk – Art and Resistance in the American South.

Place, Space and Who is a new artwork by British, Birmingham based artist Barbara Walker, created over a four-month residency at Turner Contemporary. It explores identity and belonging, featuring sound and portraits of five women and girls from the African Diaspora living in Margate and Kent.

TESSELLATION 2020 is an installation of 6 unique hand woven panels from Margo Selby’s ongoing TESSELLATION series in our cafe. During We Will Walk, Selby will be running unique workshops where participants can learn from her techniques.
