Location

Droit House
Margate

Tracey Emin's love letter to her hometown lights up Droit House on the Harbour arm. I Never Stopped Loving You uses Emin's own handwriting moulded in pink neon to reflect her feelings across the main sands to Margate.

Admission to Turner is free. A one-off or regular donation will help support artists to realise exciting new exhibitions and inspire over 300,000 children, young people and adults each year with free access to art and creative activities.

Commissioned by Turner and Thanet District Council in 2010, the work went on display the year before the gallery opened.

Intended as a love letter to the town where Emin grew up, the bright pink neon is installed on the façade of Droit house, a former customs building next to the gallery.

Everyone who is associated with Margate, whether it's their past or their present, should never stop loving Margate.

Tracey Emin

About the artist

Dame Tracey Emin DBE is known for her frank, confessional style and for transforming her inner world into intimate works of art. She has become one of the most celebrated artists in the world, a household name, and part of the Art establishment.

Her practice includes painting, drawing, film, photography, sewn appliqué, sculpture, and neon, but in recent years she has focused on painting. Inspired by artists Egon Schiele and Edvard Munch, her paintings are provocative, confrontational, and vulnerable. They are at once deeply personal and universal, and it’s for this reason her work is revered around the world, and she has become an international icon.
