Turner Contemporary to feature on Kent Crisps pack fronts in brand new partnership as the gallery counts down to Turner Prize 2019

6 August, 2019

Turner Contemporary has collaborated with local brand Kent Crisps to promote the county of Kent in an exciting new partnership as the gallery counts down to this year’s Turner Prize 2019 (28 September 2019 – 12 January 2020).

Launching this August, Turner Contemporary will feature on Kent Crisps’ Smoked Chipotle Chilli flavour crisps, meaning one of Kent’s key cultural landmarks will appear on supermarket shelves, in cafes and farm shops across the county and beyond. The image features Turner Contemporary against a beautiful sunset and draws on the view that inspired artist JMW Turner who was a regular visitor to Margate during his lifetime.

The crisps will also be available in Turner Contemporary café from today, before being rolled out nationwide and 100 free packs will be given away as part of the community picnic running Sunday 11th August.

This partnership is just one of many activities planned by Turner Contemporary this year, as the gallery builds towards hosting Turner Prize 2019. Other events, activities and exhibitions include; Seaside: Photographed, a major exhibition of seaside photography, Portfolio: Art Rebels, a touring exhibition of work by children, young people, teachers and community groups entered into Turner Contemporary’s annual art competition and Margate NOW, an exciting townwide programme taking place during Turner Prize 2019.

Turner Contemporary attracts thousands of people to Kent each year and we are thrilled to be part of this exciting collaboration with a local brand.

Victoria Pomery, Director of Turner Contemporary

Our ethos is all about championing the very best Kent has to offer from delicious food and drink producers to landscapes and landmarks that the county is famous for and Turner Contemporary is the perfect match.
