FAQs

Yes, entry to all our exhibitions and displays is completely free. We ask you to give what you can to help us continue offering free exhibitions and creative opportunities for everyone. Some workshops and ticketed events have a charge; you’ll find details on our What's on page.

We're open Wednesday to Sunday, 11am–5pm, including bank holidays. During the summer (April-October), we’re also open on Tuesdays. Opening hours for our Clore Learning Studio vary. Always check our website before travelling, as opening hours may change during exhibition changeovers.

Southeastern runs high-speed trains from London St Pancras and Stratford International to Margate in under 90 minutes, with services every hour. The gallery is a 10-minute walk from Margate station. We encourage visitors to travel by train where possible.

The nearest car park is Rendezvous Car Park, a 5-minute walk from the gallery entrance (Rendezvous, Margate CT9 1HG). It has 24/7 access, EV charging, and motorcycle parking.

There are also seven free Blue Badge parking bays near the Thanet Visitor Information Centre. Rendezvous Car Park is operated by Smart Parking on behalf of Kent County Council.

Yes, the gallery is fully accessible. We have step-free access throughout, accessible toilets, hearing loops, and large-print materials available on request. Our full accessibility guide is on our Accessibility page.

Absolutely, families are very welcome. We run free family workshops during school holidays, and our Clore Learning Studio is designed to engage younger visitors. Pushchairs and buggies can be brought into the gallery.

Yes, the Louie On Sea café and restaurant is open during gallery hours and serves hot drinks, light lunches, and snacks. It overlooks Margate seafront and is open to all, whether or not you're visiting an exhibition.

Yes, we offer venue hire for weddings, private celebrations, corporate events, and brand activations. Contact our events team at hire@turnercontemporary.org to discuss your event.

We’re happy to welcome guide, assistance and hearing dogs that support our disabled visitors in the gallery. While we can’t allow pets inside the gallery, they’re more than welcome to join you in our café.
