What happens when a little cat suddenly finds its home underwater?

Join us for Flow, the Oscar-winning animated film about a little black cat on an incredible journey across a flooded world. Along the way, the cat finds itself sharing a small boat with an unlikely group of animals, including a capybara, a dog, a lemur and a secretary bird. As they face challenges together, they discover that working together might be the key to survival.

Told through beautiful animation, music and the animals' actions rather than dialogue, Flow is a wonderful adventure about friendship, trust and finding a way to work together.

Before the screening, children can choose their favourite animal from the film and bring it to life through shadow play and simple animation. Create your own little animal world using our Shadow Play theatre, or experiment with stop-motion animation to make your character move.

This project is supported by the BFI Film Audience Network and National Lottery funding.

Tickets: Children £3.50 | Adults £5 | Family Ticket (2 adults + 2 children) £15

Please note: separate tickets are required for each event session.

About Small World Cinema

Small World Cinema is a community-led film club and festival for children, young people, and families.

Margate Film Festival is an independent, not-for-profit film and creative arts organisation bringing people together through cinema and moving image. Established in 2018, the festival celebrates local and international filmmaking, with a programme spanning screenings, live performances, Q&As, exhibitions and installations.

This edition of our family film programme forms part of the festival, joining a wider celebration of independent cinema, creativity and new ways of experiencing film across Margate.
