Join Artist and Beekeeper Dominic Rose on a walk and talk exploring pollinator habitats in and around Margate train station.
This free event is for anyone interested in ecology in urban environments, focusing on the history of bees, species identification and the importance of community led projects across the railway.
Connecting our commitment to sustainability and the environment, the walk is inspired by Anna Boghiguian’s use of bees and beehives through her exhibition The Sunken Boat: A glimpse into past histories currently at Turner.
Thank you to Southeastern for their continued support.
About Dominic Rose
Dominic Rose is a Margate based visual artist, interested in the overlap between human and non-human environments. With a passion for ecology, landscape and the environment, his work frequently returns to the artefacts and relationships on the fringes of our built environment, where the certainties of modernity, like the concrete, begin to crumble.
Dominic has been keeping honeybees for over 15 years and has a particular interest in wild bees and pollinating insects in the urban environment. He is a tutor on the postgraduate fine art programme at The Margate School and coordinates beekeeping activities at Windmill Community Gardens Margate.
