Jazz by the Sea brings exceptional musicians into close focus, transforming the gallery into a space for atmosphere, spontaneity and shared listening.
This December edition features internationally acclaimed vocalist Christine Tobin, performing with Liam Noble and Dave Whitford as *Chlida* - a reunion of three highly inventive artists with deep musical rapport. Their extended second set blends original material with vivid new arrangements of Tom Waits, Duke Ellington, Milton Nascimento and more - expressive, soulful and richly textured.
Opening the night: Liam Noble & Dave Whitford: BRUBECK—an inspired reimagining of Dave Brubeck’s most iconic works. Familiar melodies meet bold improvisation, balancing reverence with fresh possibility.

Christine Tobin
Christine Tobin is an internationally recognised vocalist and composer, known for a sound that draws on jazz, folk influences and elements of contemporary classical music. Liam Noble
Liam Noble is a pianist admired for his inventive approach and distinctive musical character. Whether reimagining the work of jazz greats or exploring his own material, his playing combines sharp intuition with a playful sense of structure. He is a highly influential figure on the UK scene, known for performances that balance respect for the tradition with a constant search for new ideas.
Dave Whitford
Dave Whitford is among the most in-demand bassists in the UK and across Europe.
