A meditative drawing workshop blending qigong, breathwork and a chance to explore how we trace our movement through time.
About the Event
Tracing Time is a reflective drawing workshop that brings together qigong, breathwork and chance techniques to explore how our bodies record time, motion and presence. The session begins with gentle qigong (energy work) movements and breath awareness to slow the pace, soften the body and heighten sensitivity to internal and external rhythms.
Participants then follow a clear set of creative rules, using elements of chance — inspired by John Cage’s I Ching methods and the roll of a dice — to guide each mark. Through layering gestures, actions and intuition, a large drawing gradually emerges: a visual record of your movement through space, shaped by intention, randomness and the passage of time.
This contemplative, process-led workshop invites participants to experience drawing as a physical extension of being — a trace, a drag, a mark of existence.
All equipment is provided, and Indian ink will be present in the session for drawing.
