Drawn together is our new monthly drawing social. Everyone is welcome to these relaxed sessions, encouraging you to have a go and express yourself, whether you're new to drawing or a seasoned sketcher.
Ted Rogers joins Turner to lead this session of Life Drawing.
Taking turns as models, you'll be guided through gentle movement activities, building a feeling of embodiment and connecting your marks on the paper to the movement of your soul.
As an artist, Ted employs a free and felt approach and hopes to share this with the group, making for an expansive session.
The goal = unblocking and process, not result or perfection.
About Ted Rogers
Ted Rogers is an artist whose work moves fluidly across performance, ceramics and drawing. Their practice often centres on the body as a site of experimentation, using gesture, rhythm and physical improvisation to generate visual forms. Drawing, for Ted, is an extension of movement - a way of tracing presence, attention and atmosphere.
For this Life Drawing session at Turner, Ted will introduce participants to approaches that loosen the boundary between moving and marking. Through shared modelling, gentle prompts and simple shifts of posture, the group will explore how sensation can lead the line. Rather than aiming for accuracy, the workshop opens space for responsiveness, ease and discovery - inviting participants to work with instinct, curiosity and the pleasure of process.
