Drawn together is our monthly drawing social. Everyone is welcome to these relaxed sessions, encouraging you to have a go and express yourself, whether you're new to drawing or a seasoned sketcher.
A relaxed, playful workshop where participants create exaggerated cardboard and paper extensions to transform their bodies, faces, and figures into physical cartoon characters. In their new forms, participants will draw portraits of one another, experimenting with shape, colour, and expressive mark-making.
The workshop encourages looseness, experimentation, and play, while blending 2D drawing approaches with 3D making and performance.
About Joey Yu
Joey Yu is a London-based illustrator and artist. Since graduating from Kingston School of Art in 2017, she has collaborated with clients including Rimowa, Mubi, The New Yorker, Reformation, and HarperCollins, among others. Her hand-drawn, mixed-media work plays with everyday perspectives, continuously warping the ways we view the world. She has undertaken artist residencies in Seoul and Jeju Island, South Korea, and in Bahia, Brazil- experiences that continue to inspire her vibrant, observational approach to storytelling through art.
