A joyful, encouraging workshop on building a reading habit that boosts happiness, ease and everyday wellbeing.
About the Event
We all know that reading is good for us — so why does it feel so hard to make space for it? And why do we feel guilty when we do?
In this gentle, uplifting and completely pressure-free workshop, author and broadcaster Daisy Buchanan explores how to create a reading practice that brings pleasure, calm and genuine joy.
Drawing on ideas from her book Read Yourself Happy, Daisy will share how reading can help quiet anxious thoughts, reconnect you with your body, and expand your inner world. You’ll learn how to choose the right book for the mood you want to cultivate, how stories can boost resilience and creativity, and how reading can make everyday life feel richer, lighter and more fun.
Expect reflective exercises, practical tools, and an invitation to fall back in love with reading on your own terms.
Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook.
The ticket cost can be redeemed against the purchase of Read Yourself Happy in the Turner Contemporary shop on the day of the event.
