About Amy Redmond

Amy Redmond is an artist and community organiser based in Margate, working with felt as a material for activism and social change. Since 2015 she has co-founded Margate Arts Club, Margate Pride, and OUT Margate, an LGBTQ+ youth club recognised by Amnesty International, alongside co-founding queer club collective Sink The Pink in 2008. Her work has been celebrated with a Community Award at the Attitude Awards (2022), a certificate of appreciation from the Mayor of Margate (2024), and a Thanet Community Champion Award (2025). This summer, Amy is running felt badge-making workshops with young people at Turner Contemporary as part of Margate Pride, creating positive slogans and celebrating queer joy through craft.
