Begin the new year with intention in this reflective drawing workshop, where you'll explore your goals for the year ahead and discover your personal colour palette.

Artist Paul Majek will guide participants through exploration of their personal colour palettes and develop a refined, intentional visual framework for future mark-making.

Through guided exercises and observational drawing from moving image, participants will explore which colours, shapes and subjects meaningfully resonate with their experiences.

The aim is to help each person express colour in a way that feels authentic and uniquely their own.

Pre-workshop preparation

Participants are invited to bring meaningful images or objects to draw from. Personal memories and imagination are equally welcome as sources of inspiration.

About Paul Majek

Paul Majek (b. 2000) is based in London and received his BFA in Fine Art from the University of Oxford’s Ruskin School of Art in 2023 and completed his postgraduate studies at the Royal Drawing School in 2024. His work explores fluid intimacy between his figures, also engaging with themes of memory, generational dialogue, and spirituality. His work explores the idea of losing a home and disembodiment, alluding to an internal wilderness. Spiritual fugitivity not as an escape but to seek a sense of freedom, this motion in his work is separate from settling, it becomes a blurred, opaque, hidden place. Working primarily with oil, acrylic, and charcoal on wood, canvas, and paper, he employs layering techniques to experiment with opacity and transparency. Drawing from family archives and personal narratives, he integrates painting with sculpture, and found objects, creating altar-like installations that evoke intimacy and a sense of belonging.
