A four-part ritual writing programme exploring intuition, creativity and self-expression, culminating in a public performance at Turner Contemporary.

SEANCES by RIEKO: In Residence is a four-part ritual writing programme with multidisciplinary artist RIEKO, culminating in a public performance at Turner Contemporary.

Across four sessions, participants will explore intuition, memory, sound and self-expression through writing, meditation, movement, drawing and improvised performance. Each session takes one of four intuitive senses as its starting point — claircognizance (knowing), clairsentience (feeling), clairaudience (listening) and clairvoyance (envisioning).

The sessions will build progressively, moving from personal writing and reflection into voice, sound, movement and visualisation. Along the way, participants will develop ideas and material that can be brought together in a final public presentation, sharing work created during the programme.

Taking place as part of RIEKO’s residency at Turner Contemporary, SEANCES offers a space to experiment with different forms of creative expression and to become part of the artist’s evolving practice — connecting personal ritual with collective creativity and performance.

The programme concludes with a public presentation on Friday 11 December, bringing together work developed by participants alongside RIEKO’s own work in progress.
