Dissolve: Depth

Pranayama, chanting and sound bath

Join us on 13 December for the final gathering in the Dissolve series, held at the stillest point of the year.

This closing session weaves together the ancient practices of pranayama and devotional chanting with a live, extended sound bath — an invitation to arrive fully in the body, open the voice, and dissolve into deep stillness.

Guest facilitator Amie Evans, founder of Union Yoga & Wellbeing, leads an accessible and joyful opening practice drawing on gentle movement, pranayama and chanting — no experience necessary.

Sound therapist and multidisciplinary practitioner Eleanor Yankah then leads an extended sound bath — Himalayan singing bowls, crystal quartz bowls, gongs, chimes, drone instruments, shruti and voice — drawing on principles of resonance, harmonic entrainment and sustained frequency to guide participants into the deepest states of rest in the Dissolve series.

Fully accessible and requiring no prior experience, sessions are available exclusively through Turner Contemporary.

Dissolve forms part of Slow Sundays—an ongoing series of immersive gatherings, wellbeing workshops, and shared experiences. Rooted in Margate’s history as a place of rest and renewal, each event offers a gentle invitation to slow down, be present, and explore

About Eleanor Yankah

Eleanor Yankah is a sound therapist and multidisciplinary practitioner whose work centres on the therapeutic use of frequency, resonance and harmonic sound to support nervous-system regulation and emotional balance. A dedicated and continuing student of this field, her commitment to the modality has taken her to trainings in Indonesia, India and across Europe. She also draws from Ayurveda, breathwork and energy work, and her sessions are designed to be restorative and inclusive regardless of prior experience.

About Amie Evans

Amie Evans has taught yoga, pranayama and meditation for 15 years and is the founder of Union Yoga & Wellbeing.

She discovered Bhakti yoga on her first trip to India, and 10 years later, she returned to deepen her understanding, studying traditional Indian ragas at Devi Music Ashram, before travelling into the Himalayas to study Sanskrit, chanting and yogic philosophy with a Vedic priest.

Her hope was to understand the chants she had been singing over the years so she could share their meaning and depth with her students and bring that understanding into her own practice.

Today, Amie trains teachers and shares weekly classes at her studio, bringing her love of devotional singing into her classes through simple, joyful and accessible chanting alongside traditional pranayama and vinyasa yoga, creating space to reconnect mind, body and heart.
