Join us in creating a collective artwork that brings Margate’s community together to imagine ideas for a healthier, happier and more connected town.
What kind of Margate do you want to live in? More trees, more places to play, more walking and cycling around town? Come along and contribute to a joint community artwork exploring ideas to make Margate a healthier, happier and more connected town. The workshop is drop in and suitable for all ages.
The collaborative artwork will be displayed in a public exhibition in October as part of the Festival of Optimism, celebrating local voices and a collective vision for Margate. The workshop will be run in partnership with Naturehood Thanet.

Accessibility information
All art materials will be provided, including paper, pens, pencils, modelling clay, cardboard and glue. The workshop is open to adults and children of all ages and abilities. There’s no right or wrong way to take part-it’s all about having fun, experimenting and getting creative.
The Clore Learning Studio is a bright, spacious room with high ceilings. There are comfortable sofas if you’d like to relax, as well as tables and seating for making art. The studio is wheelchair accessible, with lift access from the ground floor to the first floor. An accessible toilet with baby change facilities is located in the space
At least three art facilitators will be in the studio to welcome you, offer support and help you get creative.
We’ll be taking photographs and filming during the workshop. If you’d prefer not to be photographed or filmed, just let a member of the team know.
The studio may get a little noisy at busier times, but there is plenty of space to spread out. You’re welcome to drop in at any time between 2–4pm – you can simply have a look, join in for a little while, or stay for as long as you like.

We’re wheelchair accessible, with step-free access and a lift serving both floors. You can enter the gallery via the access ramp to the right of the entrance steps.
You can also borrow a wheelchair or portable stool during your visit, and our staff will be happy to help if you require any additional assistance.
