Working at Turner Contemporary
At Turner Contemporary, we believe in the power of art to transform people, places, and lives. Since opening in 2011, we have become one of the most successful galleries in the UK and been a catalyst for the regeneration of Margate. As a registered charity located in an award-winning building, our ambitious artistic programme takes place in the gallery and beyond. This has earned us an international reputation.
We are committed to championing the energy and ideas of artists and to offering an outstanding experience for our visitors. But we are also committed to being a welcoming, inspiring, and inclusive place to work. It is the talented team at Turner that enables us to achieve the success that we do, and we pride ourselves on being a supportive and friendly place to work and for making sure our staff feel valued.
Based in the exciting and creative seaside town of Margate, we have a thriving art scene on our doorstep, beautiful beaches and a strong sense of community we’re overjoyed to be a part of. We offer flexible working options, training and networking opportunities and an Employee Assistance Scheme to support staff wellbeing. There are staff discounts in our gallery shop and café, invites to events and openings and much more. We are also proud to be a Living Wage Employer.
Turner Contemporary is committed to improving diversity within our organisation and we welcome and encourage applications from candidates who are under-represented within the arts sector. We are a Disability Confident Employer and any applicants who identify as disabled and meet the minimum criteria will be offered an interview.
Turner Contemporary strives to create a diverse inclusive environment where everyone feels supported and able to thrive. We are committed to inclusive working practices and want to provide a strong positive and supportive culture and want to support staff wherever and however possible to overcome any barriers which they feel may prevent them from working with us.
We want to do our best to make the process of applying to and working at Turner Contemporary as accessible as possible. If you are interested in applying to us but feel that there is something which may prevent you from getting involved, please get in touch with us, however you define access. It may be issues around disability, white space, threshold anxiety, money, internet access, childcare, institutional transphobia or in fact any form of inclusion, please let us know how you feel we can support you in making your application and throughout the selection process.
