Our First Floor Galleries are closed while we change over exhibitions.

You can still visit Sunley Gallery on the ground floor, the shop and the café, which are open as usual.

Access Group

The Access Group is a collective of activists passionate about making the world — and our gallery — more welcoming for everyone. They generously share their time and lived experience to help Turner Contemporary shape exhibitions with accessibility in mind.

Meeting a few times a year, the group identifies barriers within our programme and offers practical, creative solutions. Since 2017, they’ve played a vital role in our work, including curating a gallery space for the Turner Contemporary Open Exhibition in 2021.

Access Group member Jason Tennant produces British Sign Language (BSL) videos and tours for every exhibition. Jason is a Director at Palm Deaf Community Services where he teaches BSL and Deaf Awareness sessions, he is a Deaf Role Model and Mentor to Deaf people in the local community.

Booking in advance is essential for these free tours. You can also book tickets in person at Turner’s shop or contact the Visitor Experience Team on +44(0)1843 233025 (10am–5pm daily).

If you have any other access needs that you would like to let us know about please call +44(0)1843 233000.
