A creative writing workshop exploring our relationship with the sea throughout the seasons
Join writer Caroline Druitt for a seasonal creative writing workshop inspired by the stillness of winter, the shifting rhythms of the sea and the exhibitions at Turner Contemporary. As the coastline takes on a quieter character, explore themes of reflection, depth and the unseen, using the season as a starting point for new ideas and creative discoveries.
Through readings from a range of genres, visual artworks and guided writing prompts, you’ll explore the connections between observation, memory and imagination. Slow down, look closer and discover new ways to respond to the landscape and the stories it holds.
Each workshop is designed to stand alone, so you can join us for a single session or return throughout the year to explore the changing seasons, deepen your connection to place and develop your writing practice over time.
Want to develop your writing practice? Join us for the next Writing the Tides workshop as we welcome spring, exploring renewal, fresh perspectives and new beginnings through creative writing.
This workshop is designed to work as a standalone session, so there’s no need to have attended any of the previous workshops. Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning to continue your creative journey, it’s an opportunity to deepen your connection to place and discover new directions in your writing practice.
