Young Creatives x RNLI
Young Creatives is a free platform for young people living (under 25) in Kent and Medway to get their art and ideas out in the world.
Celebrating JMW Turner’s fascination with the ocean and Margate’s unique light, we have partnered with our neighbours—the RNLI. Waves Breaking on a Lee Shore at Margate (Study for ‘Rockets and Blue Lights’) was painted on the site of the gallery and on display at Turner Contemporary from April 2025.

The Brief
The RNLI are a FORCE, built from a team of courageous volunteers, who put others before themselves and ensure practice of sea safety is available for all.
Partnering with our neighbour RNLI, we invited young people to take action in response to this year’s theme FORCE. The theme encourages us to take a closer look at our surroundings, ask questions and find innovative ways to create art.

The exhibition invites your to explore paintings, collages, photography, video and installation pieces created by local young artists inspired by the sea.
