Access Group

For Adults

The Access Group is made up of activists who want to make the experience of moving through the world easier for everyone, who give up their time to help Turner Contemporary design their exhibitions with this in mind. The group meets up a few times a year to identify barriers within the programme and they use their knowledge and experience to provide solutions. The group has been meeting since 2017 and they were one of the curatorial groups to select artwork and design a gallery for the Turner Contemporary Open Exhibition in 2021.

Access Group member Jason Tennant produces British Sign Language (BSL) videos and tours for every exhibition.  Jason is a Director at Palm Deaf Community Services where he teaches BSL and Deaf Awareness sessions, he is a Deaf Role Model and Mentor to Deaf people in the local community.

Booking in advance is essential for these free tours. You can also book tickets in person at Turner Contemporary’s shop or contact the Visitor Experience Team on 01843 233025 (10am – 5pm Daily).
