Here for 30 minutes?
Enjoy the views from the window in our Sunley Gallery and see the skies that JMW Turner famously hailed “the loveliest in all Europe”. We regularly commission and display artworks in this space. See what artworks might be on show during your trip by checking our What’s On. Drop in for something to eat or drink in our Café.
Here for an hour or more?
Explore our latest exhibition. If you arrive at 12.30pm, you can join a free daily highlight tour, which gives you an insight into the artworks on display. On Sundays, there are workshops for families created by our learning team in collaboration with artists. Browse our shop and find the perfect gift or souvenir.
Here all day?
Make the most of your visit by exploring all of the exhibitions and artworks we have on display, which you can find by checking our What’s On and filtering to the dates you want.
Enjoy a delicious meal in our café, made from locally sourced produce. Discover local makers and unique products in our shop. Beyond the building, don’t miss Antony Gormley’s Another Time, and Tracey Emin’s ‘I Never Stopped Loving You’ neon, located on Droit House.
We are just a short distance from Margate Old Town where there are a number of boutique shops, artists’ studios, galleries, cafés and restaurants. You can find out more about exploring Margate and the neighbouring resorts of Broadstairs and Ramsgate here.
I have spent the most extraordinary afternoon at the gallery. Such helpful, informative, warm and enthusiastic staff. This is something I’ve never experienced before – London or NY or anywhere else. Thank you.
