Peter Hasted

Peter Hasted is Director of Isle of Thanet Tree and Wood Initiative (ITTWI), now known as Thanet Urban Forest.

This is multi-disciplinary role includes working with local, regional and national government bodies, private landowners, charities, businesses and other community organisations to design, plan, implement and facilitate the community plantings and establishment 1260 large trees across the District of Thanet.

Peter is also a volunteer coordinator for the Bumble Bee Conservation Trust (BBCT), in which enabled him to found and chair the Sunken Garden Society (SGS), a community group set up to revive the dilapidated 1930’s pleasure garden. SGS has since won acclaim from BBCT, Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Kent Wildlife Trust (KWT), Kent Life Magazine the Bees Needs DEFFA award, and the coronation Champion award from the King and Queen during their coronation.
