Zara
Zara is queen bee of Hivemind, small bird enthusiast, and trans icon – they spend basically any time they physically can outdoors and consider themselves to be a force of nature (see: light breeze/small wave).
Their work, most recently, almost exclusively tackles gender, through themes of the apocalypse. To them, their own transness has been an apocalypse in the sense that it has destroyed the toxic sense of self they so assuredly shored up in order to deny it – yet like any time anyone has started from scratch, it is also the biggest relief, joy, and fulfilment that they never imagined. They run Thanet’s only trans-led open mic night, the aforementioned Hivemind, and have done for the last few years.
