Look Club
For Adults
Look Club is a free group where adults can meet new people, learn about art and be inspired. Over six weeks, participants explore ideas and questions around exhibitions at the gallery. The sessions are fun, informal and open to anyone who is curious about art. No previous knowledge is required, only an open mind.
Originally launched in 2020 in partnership with Age Thanet UK, Look Club now collaborates with Pilgrims Hospice, to tackle social isolation and to support the well-being of people locally. Look Club prioritises those referred by the hospice, but spaces are available to other participants as well.
If you’re interested in signing up or would like to find out more, please contact the learning team on learn@turnercontemporary.org or call the office on 01843 233 025 (operated daily 10:00 – 17:00)

In a light–hearted way, Look Club has started me on a journey I never thought I would take
I can be playful and imaginative at Look Club; in the outside world, I might be called childish
Look Club Participants
Thank you Bowie and Sarah for delivering another thoughtful and engaging session! The Turner Look Club has been organised with real sensitivity, and it’s such a good outreach programme, I think people can be a little intimidated by galleries, I know I was when I was younger, and often just the simplest conversation can open up what is going on with the work inside the museum and let people have a way in to what is going on. For my part too it’s also so nice to meet people and talk about art, as a painter I spend most time alone so it’s lovely to hear responses to the paintings.
