Event Details

Tuesday 21 January 2025, 1 – 4pm

A deeper dive into National Lottery Project Grants – for previous applicants with a Visual Arts practice. Led by Arts Council England.

In this event you will take a deeper look at National Lottery Project Grants (Under £30k) and how you might make the most of the application form to talk about your project. You’ll also recap on the programme, how to apply, and how Arts Council England make their decisions. Your active participation is welcome. There’ll be group breakout sessions so that you can discuss, with your peers, any future project ideas you may have and how you might strengthen your application.

This session is open to individuals/organisations with a Visual Arts practice who have recently applied to National Lottery Project Grants (Under £30k). By ‘Visual Arts’, we mean that you may have a practice in ceramics, painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, craft, textiles, sound art, live and performance art, graffiti art or media arts.

What this event will cover:

  • Introduction to Arts Council England and their strategy, Let’s Create
  • An overview of Arts Council’s investment in Thanet
  • A brief recap on National Lottery Project Grants, the types of visual arts practices Arts Council fund, how to apply, and how they make their decisions
  • A deep dive into the Under £30k application form – hints and tips to make the most of the form to talk about your project
  • Small groups ‘troubleshooting’ sessions: an opportunity to discuss any future project ideas you may have with your peers, and think together about how you might strengthen your proposal

Please note:

  • This event is for those who have previously applied to Arts Council’s National Lottery Project Grants, and therefore is not suitable for those who are looking for an introduction to Arts Council and their funding programmes. Events for new applicants will be announced soon.
  • The gallery is not open to the public on this day and the café will be closed. We recommend that you bring snacks and refreshments with you.
