There will be gaming competitions, prizes and the chance to meet and play with artist Larry Achiampong and host and presenter Shay Thompson. Join the conversation in person or online via Twitch.
This event is open to all ages and marks the closing weekend of Wayfinder: Larry Achiampong & JMW Turner curated by Larry Achiampong. The Barletta bar will be open for you to enjoy beer, wine, cocktails and softs while you game.
The Gaming Room
As part of Achiampong’s current exhibition, Wayfinder: Larry Achiampong & JMW Turner curated by Larry Achiampong, we are showcasing many of the video games that have influenced his work, in a dedicated Gaming Room. Examples include; Ico, Journey, Inside, Legend of Zelda and Ori and the Blind Forest.
The Gaming Room includes playable consoles and bean bags, and will be open for you to explore between 6pm and 8pm, come and try out the games for yourself.
Larry Achiampong (born 1984, London) works in film, sculpture, installation, sound, collage, music and performance. Drawing on popular culture and his communal and personal heritage, his work explores post-colonial and post-digital identity, and the deeply entrenched inequalities in contemporary society.
Shay Thompson is a presenter and journalist, working in games and entertainment.
