A performance honouring those who sought a better future, travelling the road to freedom through protest or migration, featuring jazz, soul and spiritual songs associated with the US civil rights movement from Jessica Lauren Band with vocals from Sabina Desir and cello by Francesca Ter-Berg.

The performance also features an art installation of civil rights activists by Karen Vost. This event is inspired by Turner Contemporary’s current exhibition, We Will Walk – Art and Resistance in the American South and will take place in the Foyle Rooms.

POW! Power of Women Thanet Festival takes place from 6th-15th March 2020. It is an annual festival of Arts and Culture celebrating International Women’s Day in locations across Thanet.
