In this one-hour, gentle, fun and low-pressure workshop, you’ll learn more about nature, record sounds, play with words and respond to the environment, with some exciting writing prompts and activities.

You’ll have the chance to create a soundscape, or sound piece, either as an individual or collectively, which you can use to build on any future work. After the workshop, you’ll also be able to explore Windmill Community Gardens individually and get inspired even more.

This relaxed, welcoming workshop is all about activating the body, mind and voice as tools, and to remind ourselves that using the world around you, anyone can create!
You’re welcome to bring a phone/tablet to record sounds to your personal device, and any other writing materials that are useful for you.

No other materials are needed for this workshop, and garden tools etc will be provided.

There is no pressure to complete a finished piece of work, or to showcase anything. This session is for you to use however you like, and there are opportunities to ask questions and for any tasks to be adapted and flexible.
