Call Out to Reuse Exhibition Materials

Turner Contemporary is on a mission to protect the planet from its pressing environmental challenges – from pollution and habitat destruction to rising sea levels, loss of biodiversity and resource depletion.

Located on the breathtaking coast of Kent, the gallery is committed to minimising its environmental impact, preserving, and safeguarding cultural and natural heritage, and empowering audiences to contribute to a sustainable future.

Opportunity

We want to donate the timber that forms a large wall structure in our current exhibition, Sonia Boyce: Feeling Her Way. In collaboration with local arts organisation Bon Volks, a member-run co-working space offering affordable artist studios, and local carpenters The Studio Workshop, Turner Contemporary would like to identify projects that could reuse this material to benefit the local community.

Extended deadline for submissions: Monday 1 May 2023

Turner Contemporary would arrange delivery of the wood between 12 and 16 May 2023.

Applications will be assessed according to how well the concept fits with Turner Contemporary’s vision and values, the caterer’s previous experience, and ability to deliver to the brief outlined.

Please send any requests for site visits and proposals to tenders@turnercontemporary.org.
