Sir Antony Gormley OBE first visited Turner Contemporary when it opened in 2011. In response to the building he said; “I think it’s an extraordinary feeling that the building gives which is of […]freedom of spirit […] it somehow affords us a view onto what has always been there but maybe we’ve never seen.” The sculpture SUBLIMATE XXXI, 2013, by Gormley featured in Turner Contemporary’s exhibition Self: Image and Identity in 2015.
The artist is best known for his public sculpture Angel of the North, installed in 1998 overlooking the A1 and A167 roads in Tyne and Wear, and his 100-figure installation Another Place on Crosby Beach in Liverpool.
ANOTHER TIME will be installed from Saturday 19 August - Sunday 5 November 2017.
