Like what we do?
We are a registered charity and last year, thousands of people donated to Turner Contemporary. We are completely free to enter, which means that world-class art is accessible to everyone, regardless of where they live or what they can afford. But, we need your help to keep bringing the best exhibitions and events to our communities. If you like what we do, we hope you will consider supporting our ongoing work here in Kent.
Turner Contemporary continues to drive the regeneration of Margate and East Kent. Margate ranks as the bottom 10% of the most deprived areas of England and Wales. Child poverty rates reach as high as fifty percent in some parts of our community. Our learning programme engages thousands of local children and young people each year, raising aspirations, offering unique opportunities and empowering them with essential creative skills. Soon, a whole generation won’t have known life without a gallery on their doorstep.
We have worked with hundreds of artists to exhibit, display and commission a diverse range of work as well as bringing many world-renowned historic and contemporary artworks to Margate. We place our communities at the heart of this, involving our audiences in researching and shaping exhibitions. Here at Turner Contemporary, we believe that ‘art is essential’. At a time of significant social and political change, the perspective and insight that art can offer has never felt so vital.
Having access to art and culture is proven to promote wellbeing, encourage debate and inspire new ways of thinking. Supporting us means that we can sustain the gallery’s work and continue to drive regeneration for our communities.
Every contribution, whatever the amount, makes a difference. Support Turner Contemporary today – it only takes a minute.
