Margate Bookie 2023
The Margate Bookie literary festival returns to Turner Contemporary for another year.
Margate Bookie will take place Thursday 19 to Sunday 22 October with an invigorating line-up to refresh your senses and recharge your mind. Featuring poetry and music, comedy and art, politics and fiction, Margate Bookie has plenty to encourage young and old to dive into books.
Highlights at Turner Contemporary include:
- Daisy Buchanan and her podcast You’re Booked with special guests Andi Osho and Lou Sanders
- Yomi Adegoke, Laura Kay and Lucy Vine talking about Alternative Romance
- Biographer Franny Moyle speaking about JMW Turner at Turner Contemporary, on the site of his workshop
Other events across the town feature Deborah Levy, Adam Kay, A.C. Grayling, Sathnam Sanghera, Rob Newman, Miki Berenyi, Ian Dunt, A.C. Grayling and Grace Dent, as well as the epic poetry slam headlined by Rick Dove and two full days of children’s events.
