Join artist Polly Bennett in free drop-in sessions at Turner Contemporary transforming mussel shells collected from Margate, and ground into fine powder, into watercolour paint. Harking back to the Old Masters like Rembrandt, you will be given intact mussel shells to hold your mussel shell paint in, and will be able to take it home with you to use the next day!

Using organic and recycled materials we will celebrate a sense of place and environmentally friendly practices through the joy of colour, whilst reflecting the historical practices of Rembrandt and the materials used by contemporary artist Anya Gallaccio.

Note: this is a free workshop where spaces are given on a first-come-first-served basis. You may be asked to wait.
