Turner Contemporary Reopening Plans

Reopening Turner Contemporary this July

Following confirmation from the government that museums and galleries can open from 4th July 2020 we are currently planning to reopen Turner Contemporary on 22nd July 2020 until 6th September 2020. The gallery is set to be open Wednesday – Sunday 10am – 5pm.

The world has changed dramatically since Turner Contemporary closed on 18th March 2020.  When we reopen,  you will be able to experience the wonder of the gallery in a way that safeguards the health and wellbeing of our staff, other visitors and you in line with government guidance and best practice.

Please share our excitement at being able to open the doors of the gallery again this summer.  We will reopen with We Will Walk – Art and Resistance in the American South, and Place, Space and Who by Barbara Walker. Where we can, we continue to share content and resources from these exhibitions online, as we approach reopening.

When we do re-open we want to offer you an outstanding, albeit different, experience at Turner Contemporary. There will be new protocols in place, including the need to pre-book your visit, one way system, and enhanced health and safety measures. We will announce the details and make slots available for booking in the coming weeks.

Since we have been closed, we have created a virtual tour of our current exhibition, delivered resources and art materials to hundreds of people through food banks and with partners, created online workshops with artists, and more.

If you would like to find out more, our TwitterInstagram and Facebook will be the best place to keep up with our news and stories.

We look forward to being able to welcome you back to Turner Contemporary soon.

If you have questions, please contact info@turnercontemporary.org. There are fewer of us working than usual so do bear with us, we will respond as quickly as we can.
