Future Foundry Presents: The Waste-Free Winter Market
10am – 6pm, Foyle Rooms
An extraordinary event created by young makers, artists and designers from across Kent who are working with rescued and salvaged materials.This market offers an exciting and relaxing alternative to the traditional Christmas shopping experience!
Alongside the market there will be a number of fashion shows and performances across the weekend.
Volunteer Takeover Day
We are looking for Volunteers to take part in a special Volunteer Takeover Day on 30 November. This is an exciting opportunity to get a one-off taster of what it is like to be a Margate NOW & Turner Contemporary Volunteer during one of our busiest seasons. The event also coincides with the launch of our Christmas programme.

Tuesday 3 December - Turner Prize 2019 Winner's Announcement
The whole of Turner Contemporary is open on 3 December 2019 from 10am – 5pm.
Get creative and participate in Art Rebels workshops from 10am – 1pm inspired by each of the Turner Prize 2019 nominees. Build your own mini-utopia, get low and be creative, make placards or create a story from a box of noises.
Discover the Turner Prize 2019 exhibition and absorb each of the artworks ahead of the winner’s announcement which will be broadcast live on BBC News on 3 December 2019. Who’s your winner? #TurnerPrize2019
Beyond the gallery, explore Margate NOW, an exciting programme of art, events and performances taking place during Turner Prize 2019.
BBC Radio 6 Music Takeover – Art Is Everywhere LIVE
10:30am – 1pm
To celebrate Turner Prize 2019 Mary Anne Hobbs will be hosting her show live here at Turner Contemporary!
Guests include former Turner Prize winner Mark Leckey, performance artist Theo Adams, who is a longtime collaborator of FKA twigs and currently directing her world tour, and Scottish multi-instrumentalist Erland Cooper will join Mary Anne for a unique live performance.
After the broadcast, you are invited to discover the Turner Prize 2019 exhibition to see works by this year’s shortlist. Entry is Free. Beyond the gallery, explore Margate NOW, an exciting programme of art, events and performances taking place during Turner Prize 2019.
